My Skillcloud.au Review: What Actually Happened
IF YOU ARE READING THIS, YOU ARE THE LUCKIEST PERSON ON EARTH.
I swear to God I'm not exaggerating…
This review will likely be gone within DAYS - because Gabriel Dio of SkillCloud.au is an expert at taking down reviews that EXPOSE HIS ASS.
I was abused, scammed, and exploited by this man in ways I genuinely did not think were possible in a professional setting.
Verbally abused throughout an entire project.
Locked out of my own work the moment he had everything he needed.
Denied payment AND OUTRIGHT SCAMMED of what I was contractually owed - at the very last minute, after months of day and night work.
And I am not alone…
I personally know of at least 5 others who have been through the exact same thing with Gabriel and SkillCloud.au.
Same pattern. Same tactics. Same outcome.
He finds you, charms you, extracts everything he can from you - then disappears with your work and your money.
And when you speak out?
He gets your review taken down.
He is INSANELY good at it - I'll give him that.
But if you're reading this right now, before he gets to it…
You have just saved yourself from genuine misery.
Close this tab.
Do not reply to his email.
Do not take his call.
Do not sign his contract.
Just walk away.
IN FACT, RUN… do not walk… SPRINT!!!
TRUST ME, DO NOT WORK WITH THIS MAN - in ANY capacity.
I repeat: IN ANY CAPACITY WHATSOEVER!
Consider yourself warned - and genuinely lucky.

Quick Disclaimer:
Every piece of evidence referenced below - including video recordings of verbal abuse and full chat transcripts - has been submitted to (and verified by) Trustpilot themselves.
This review keeps getting taken down by SkillCloud - something they are INSANELY good at…
I've shared it 10 times in the past week alone, and I have no plans to stop... I’m sure it will help prevent others from experiencing what I did (both clients and future employees).
What happened in short:
Got hired by SkillCloud.au in February 2025 to build their 40-page website. Worked day and night to deliver everything ahead of schedule, went way beyond what was agreed - and got denied my final $700 at the last minute after they'd already locked me out of everything I'd built them.
Worst experience of my career. And I've been doing this for 10 years.
Here's the full picture:
1. Didn't Pay what was agreed, full stop - And Had the Audacity to Justify It
After withholding my final $700, Gabriel’s response was:
"This is not my first time in disputes. We've been on Upwork since before COVID. By your reaction I can tell this is outside your comfort zone."
So by his own admission - disputes are routine for him. That says it all really.
2. We Massively Overdelivered - Got Nothing in Return
a) The project started as copywriting and quietly ballooned into full Webflow development, third-party integrations, graphic design and more - all handled by us at no extra charge
b) Delivered a full 40-page website ahead of a deadline he'd made up (and kept changing as a “pressure tactic”).
3. Verbally Abusive Throughout - Documented and Verified
a) Every single feedback session was an aggressive rant loaded with curse words from start to finish
b) In one video alone he dropped the F-word 18 times in the first 10 minutes - this recording has been verified by Trustpilot
c) Repeatedly called me "Son" in a condescending tone throughout - I'm in my 50s, he looks to be in his 30s. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour.
4. Lied and Deceived From the Start
a) Spent the entire project communicating under fake "employee" profiles pretending to be different team members - later casually admitted it was him the whole time
b) Flat out asked us to move the project off-UpWork to dodge fees - a direction violation of the platform ToS - we refused.
5. The Website Is Built on Completely Made-Up Content - He Asked For It
a) Gabriel personally requested fake Filipino employee profiles - complete with names and matching images
b) Asked for a fake management team and fake customer reviews written under Anglo-Saxon names
c) Even dictated the star ratings for the fake reviews - "make some of them 3 and 4 stars to make it realistic" - his exact words.
6. Invented a Reason Not to Pay
a) Demanded a specialist sales funnel that was never discussed or agreed upon
b) When we explained it required a separate specialist entirely, he went quiet - then used it months later as his excuse to withhold our $700
c) Kept shifting deadlines from March 24th to March 18th then continued requesting changes well into April - so the "urgent deadline" was never real to begin with

Ten years of doing this. 130+ clients. Never had anything come close to this. Genuinely hope this saves someone else from going through the same.
Stay well clear.
